Quezaltepeque - Cojute 100-93

Quezaltepeque shot 26 for 38 from the free-throw line, while Cojute only scored nine points from the stripe. They outrebounded Cojute 53-31 including a 39-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quezaltepeque players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Cojute was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Alberto Liriano (-1998) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. American center Marc Montavious (206-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) accounted for 26 points and 15 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winning side. Five Quezaltepeque players scored in double figures. Quezaltepeque's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Andravious Smith (198-1995, college: Tougaloo) came up with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican forward Jordan Glover (201-1996, college: TCNJ) added 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Cojute in the defeat.

Aguila - Nejapa 104-86

Aguila looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for guard Najeen Nawabi (186-1999) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Brayan Garcia (194-1998) helped adding 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Aguila players scored in double figures. Aguila's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Kylon Higgins (190-1993, college: Arkansas Tech) with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 8 assists and center Teodoro Romero (202-1985) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds.

It was an exceptional evening for American Cameron Lard (206-1997, college: Iowa St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. His fellow American import forward Christopher Blake (195-1988, college: Detroit) accounted for 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. American forward Arinze Obiora (196-1997, college: UMass Dartmouth) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and Joshua Quincy added 18 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Brujos in the defeat. Metapan dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to San Salvador's 26 and made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Metapan forced 21 San Salvador turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including 34 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by San Salvador's players. It was an exceptional evening for Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-1983, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American-Puerto Rican forward Tyler Polo (201-1987, college: CS Los Angeles) accounted for 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Roberto Martinez (-1991) came up with 17 points and Eduardo Escalante (181-1993) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for San Salvador in the defeat. Five Metapan and four San Salvador players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
